The neoprene surface has just enough grip that my cards stop sliding around mid-game, which was my biggest annoyance with my old mat. Rolls up tight too, so it actually fits back in the box.

The edge stitching on this mat is a nice touch, no fraying after a few weeks of weekly game nights. Cards pick up and slide cleanly on the neoprene surface, and it lies flat right out of the tube.
