Moonrakers is a deck-building game that mixes temporary alliances, negotiation, and ship-building with traditional deck management for a unique and competitive gameplay experience.
Platinum Edition is the base game and includes metal coins and a custom plastic insert that supports sleeved cards.
The negotiation phase makes this way more cutthroat than my usual deck-builders, and forming a temporary alliance just to stab someone in the back later never gets old. Took us about three hours to get through the first game since everyone kept arguing over contracts.
The ship-building part had me hooked from the first game — swapping out modules mid-run changes your whole strategy. Played three rounds back to back and the temporary alliances kept everyone at the table way longer than planned.
The negotiation mechanic really shines here—temporary alliances make every round feel like a tense, exciting bet. The ship-building and deck-building blend keeps things fresh, and my group has already played three times this week.
